Wikki Stix

Today,
There was a contest
to create something
out of wikki stix.

There are
THREE
size categories:
1 package
2-5 packages
6+ packages

Can you guess how many packages I used to create this?
***Hint: Each package had 8 stix***

If you guessed 22 packages, you are right!

Now, hopefully I win an iPod or Campus Store Gift Certificate!

Mail!

Today,
I received my
first real
piece of
Mail!

Every day,
I walk past my
lonely mail box.
Once and a while,
I get something from
Calvin or,
even worse,
there is a package slip
or letter,
and I pull it out to find
it is for my roommate.

Today,
I got my
very own
piece of mail.

It was awesome!

Thank you Mom!

Love you!

Switchfoot and Anberlin

Today,
I had the opportunity to go to a
Switchfoot and Anberlin concert
on
my campus
for only ten dollars!

Also,
beforehand,
I was able to attend
a discussion with
Jon Foreman and Stephen Christian,
the band leaders.

(Sorry, the picture isn't good. I have to use my phone because I can't find my camera...)

I love Calvin College!

Homework and Tea

Today,
has been
a typical Tuesday.
Now,
It is homework time.
(Well, it has been most of the day...)

It is raining
and cold.
So,
I made tea.

But,
not just any tea.
Licorice Spice.
The best tea
EVER.

 (seriously, try it)

All Within Twenty-Four Hours

Last night, at seven,
I arrived back at my dorm.

I knew that I had to do the remainder of my homework after a long busy weekend,
but I was unaware of how much I actually had...

At seven,
I began reading my History
--all fifty-four pages of it--
and my Prelude
--all eighteen pages of it--
and writing my responses
--all four questions, one-hundred words each--

and, then,
around nine,
I realized
I had another paper,
a three page autobiography,
that I hadn't started!

I frantically began to work.
I worked until midnight,
When my brain was no longer functioning properly.

At eight-thirty the next morning,
I woke up and continued working.
and working
and working
(while simultaneously doing laundry)

Eleven-thirty,
I attended my Bible class.

Twelve-thirty,
I ate lunch.

One,
I continued to work on my papers.

Two,
I finally finished my papers.

Two-Thirty,
I attended my Math class.

Three-thirty,
I attended the Prelude Plenary in the chapel.

Five,
I went to dinner.

Six,
I attended my class and turned in my papers.

So,
In twenty-four hours,
I successfully
attended all my classes,
ate all my meals,
finished 3 papers,
and did my laundry.

And soon I will begin another day,
with new challenges,
and more homework.

Welcome to college.

Giving In

Today, I decided to start my own blog.
I check various other blogs everyday and think to myself,
"I should do that!"
or
"That looks fun!"
but...
what would I write about?

I don't take pictures often,
and even if I did,
I can't find my camera...

I'm not talented at writing.

So,
you may ask,
why did I start this blog?

Because I gave in.

I thought I would be a fun hobby.
Nobody even has to read it.
If people want to read it,
they can learn more about me.
I can be useful for me to remember what happened on given days
and it can give my family something to read about me while I am away at college.

So, there, that is why this blog exists.

I gave into my desire.

We will see where it takes me.
